Art Club is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. Club members will have fun expressing unique ideas in a variety of mediums. Opportunities to participate in community projects and projects to enrich FJH are also available to members. Members serve as hosts for the Hurricane Highlights Art Exhibit.
Chess Club is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. Club members will learn the game of Chess, strategizing techniques, and of course have fun, friendly competitions with other students. Club members are also encouraged to participate in our intramural chess tournament hosted here at FJHS in the spring.
All students who are interested in the French language and culture can apply to be part of the French Club. Members enjoy the French experience through language, food, fun and games. We meet before school (8:20) the first Tuesday of every month.
FFA is for students who are currently enrolled in agriscience at the junior high level. It is a youth organization that allows students to travel, compete in contests and events, and develop leadership skills along the way. Students can compete in contests throughout the school year. Students can also attend camps and conventions in the summer time. FFA members work closely with other FFA members from other schools throughout St. Tammany Parish and around the state.
The NJHS is a student group that was established in 1929 in order to help recognize and promote student achievement in the areas of scholarship, character, service, citizenship and leadership.
Membership in the NJHS is both an honor and a commitment. And, through various NJHS chapter service activities, members continue to both maintain and broaden the qualities and capabilities they displayed in order to be selected for the association.
The Print Club is for all FJH students wanting to create all forms shapes and forms of visual art prints. We believe in the expression of every club members unique ideas and the development of a safe haven for all who wish to create art through the exploration of printmaking mediums.
Any FJH student interested in the Hispanic Culture can join the Spanish Club. Students will be given the opportunity to speak Spanish in an informal setting and learn more about the Spanish culture. Meetings are held the first Monday of every month.
Student Council allows students to become strong leaders and productive citizens within our community by helping them develop their leadership, citizenship, school spirit and collaboration skills. Student council members organize and implement various school activities that benefit FJH, the student body, and the community.
Tri-M is a great way for music students to learn more about different fields of music, and develop leadership skills to help them succeed in any area of life. Tri-M requires that students keep a B average in all classes and will include music related service hours and events. Tri-M is a well-recognized club that students can participate in throughout high school.
