FFA is for students who are currently enrolled in agriscience at the junior high level. It is a youth organization that allows students to travel, compete in contests and events, and develop leadership skills along the way. Students can compete in contests throughout the school year. Students can also attend camps and conventions in the summer time. FFA members work closely with other FFA members from other schools throughout St. Tammany Parish and around the state.
HHC is a service club to help out around school and our community. We usually do a food drive, make things for Wounded Warriors, sponsor the Cupcake Wars, volunteer at Boo Fest, or play Bingo at a Senior Living facility. We also do sewing and baking activities for teachers. It is only open to Family and Consumer Science students.
Club Hort develops skills in the art and science of growing fruit, vegetables, and ornamental plants. Students will learn plant classification, plant growth and development, propagation, landscape installation, and how to use a greenhouse. They will also monitor plants and help with beautification efforts around campus. This club is hands-on! Students will get dirty and learn how to turn their thumbs “green”.
The NJHS is a student group that was established in 1929 in order to help recognize and promote student achievement in the areas of scholarship, character, service, citizenship and leadership.
Membership in the NJHS is both an honor and a commitment. And, through various NJHS chapter service activities, members continue to both maintain and broaden the qualities and capabilities they displayed in order to be selected for the association.
The Student Council promotes leadership, citizenship and school spirit through student generated activities. It gives students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organizing and implementing school activities and service projects.
