Fall is here and what a welcome relief it is!

Our World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser had a late start thanks to Gustav, but so far it looks to be a success once again! Official counts were not in by printing time, so look for those to be published in the November newsletter. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Mariann Feske for coordinating the delivery of the chocolate to the students and the counting of the money. What an outstanding job!!!!
2007-08 Yearbook addendums are still available for pick up.

Some of our students also participated in the St. Jude Math-a-thon. Students were given this information in their math classes. Deadline for turning in money collected is October 1st. This is on a voluntary basis only, but as you know, this is for a very good cause and we hope our students fully participate.

Football and volleyball close their seasons in October. Check the website for final games and come on out and support our CANES!!!
The 7th grade dance is scheduled for Friday, October 17th from 7-9 pm. Cost is $5.00 or $12.00 Cane Cash. Tickets will be sold during lunch on Wed, Thurs, and Fri of that week. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Picture retakes is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14th. It is imperative that students have their pictures taken in order to be in the 2008-09 Yearbook.

Boys Basketball tryouts will be held after school on October 15th, 16th, and 17th until 5:30 pm. Remember that proof of insurance and a physical must be on file in order to try out.

Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated the week of October 26th through October 31st. Look for more information on our website as we get closer to the date. Mrs. Bellan, our 7th grade counselor, has many great activities planned for that week.

Our Veterans Day Program will be held in the gym on Thursday, Nov. 6th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, so that we can film it to show to the entire school on Nov. 11th. If you have a family member who is or was a member of the armed services and would like to attend, please invite them as we would love to have them. If he/she is an active member, it would be wonderful if he/she would wear their uniform. I would appreciate your e-mailing me to let me know who might be attending and to what branch of the military the family member belongs(ed). This way I can make sure we have reserved seating for them.

PTA Reflections deadline is November 14th and Safety and Poster Contests deadline is December 12th. Anyone who needs additional information on these contests can pick up copies in Student Services.
