| Well,
the first nine weeks are completed and we are off to a wonderful
start. As usual, our calendar for the upcoming month is full of
activities.
Our World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser concluded and to date, we have
collected approximately $37,000. Although the students who participated did an
outstanding job of selling, we fell short of our school-wide goal of $40,000.
We would love to close the books on this, so if your child still has money to
turn in, please send that immediately. Our inflatable event for the students
who sold at least $100 worth of chocolate will be held on Friday, November 20th.
Again, a special thanks to Mrs. Mariann Feske, who coordinated the event.
I’d like to thank all those students who participated in the St. Jude Math-a-thon.
We collected $886. Kudos for a job well done!
Boy’s and Girl’s basketball and soccer start in November. Please
check the website calendar for specific dates.
Our Talented Theater Department is putting on Aladdin, Jr. with show dates scheduled
for the nights of November 4th & 5th. Cost is $5.00 and the production will
take place in the FHS auditorium. Come on out and enjoy a wonderful evening at
a reasonable cost! Our students under the direction of Dr. Cheryl Frederic and
Mrs. Sharon McNamara-Horne always do a fabulous job!
All 7th graders will have their vision and hearing checked on November 17th.
Our Veterans Day Program will be held in the gym on Thursday, Nov. 5th from 1:00
to 2:00 pm, so that we can film it to show to the entire school on Nov. 11th.
If you have a family member who is or was a member of the armed services and
would like to attend, please do so as we would love to have them. If he/she is
an active member, it would be wonderful if he/she would wear their uniform. However,
it would be very beneficial if you could e-mail me to let me know who might be
attending and to what branch of the military the family member belongs. This
way I can make sure we reserve a seat. In connection with this, our school creates
a Heroes banner in which we honor our veterans. Stars were distributed to students
weeks ago. If you have a family member who was a veteran or is currently serving
and you would like to honor him/her, please ask your child for the star. Additional
stars may be picked up in student services.
December will be very busy as the book fair, 8th grade dance, band and chorus
concerts, and end of the 9 weeks will all take place. Please continue to check
our website calendars for more specifics.
