Principal’s Message
October 2008
Dr. Tim Schneider
We’re off to a great start thanks to the hard work of our teachers,
students and parents! The 2008 – 09 school year is now well underway
and FJH is abuzz with activity. During September, FJH completed it’s
all-school fundraiser for technology with over 500 students participating
in the event. The success of this event is due to the dedication
of Ms. Scoriels, our RHT, the many parent volunteers who devote hours
organizing and sorting the chocolate, and our incredible students,
who always give 100% for this great cause. To all who helped…thanks
so much!
Many parents have discovered that it’s easy to monitor their child’s
progress using the FJH website and STI Home. You can find out what
your child’s teacher is planning and what’s for homework using the
TeacherWeb link found at the bottom of each teacher’s page under
the Faculty tab. You can then use the password and user number sent
to you to access STI Home, There, you can find your child’s grades
and attendance records. I encourage you to keep track of all this
information to assist us in teaching students to be organized and
responsible. You may also want to check your child’s planner regularly.
In it, you will discover daily assignments and a log detailing when
they left the classroom (we use student planners as a hall pass…students
take it with them everywhere!).
October is a busy time at FJH. Our football and volleyball teams
are completing their seasons at the end of the month, and we finish
the first nine weeks exams during the week of October 6 – 11. Don’t
forget that October 3rd is Parish Fair Day and there is no school
for students on October 12th. Finally, Red Ribbon Week is October
27 – 31, with lots of associated activities. If you can…please volunteer
for any event possible…your help is always welcomed!
